Really like it, although on the mobile version it doesn't work as well, since the ide window isn't visible unless you scroll and it stays at the top of the page so not that responsive.

But really like it otherwise 😊

@janiceilene

Good call out 💖 We'll definitely take some time to figure out what the right mobile interaction should be! For this version, our goal was to get a quick experiment in front of users and start gathering feedback.

Love the interactive sections in the example yml file. Really helps to see what info is about what section.

Only thing I'm personally not sure about is the icons used for "Prerequisites" and "In this Article". That blue is not really a favourite of mine there... Maybe have the circle transparent and only have the icon and the circle's outline shown?
I look at this from a dark mode perspective, so not sure how this would look like on light mode or one of the high contrast or colour blind ones (if available in the docs)

Love it - this really helps bridge the written content to code, which is generally difficult to do in docs alone!

I do have a few thoughts or things that would potentially help readability:

  1. When clicking links (e.g. https://docs.github.com/en/actions/automating-builds-and-tests/building-and-testing-nodejs-or-python#installing-dependencies), the page basically scrolls right to the section content. Instead, I would suggest that it snaps to the entire block (including the header). So, instead of:

    Could it be:

That way I have a clear reference of where I am, and the glorious circled box is fully visible to start. This may just be a CSS bug, as I am not sure if the section links are accounting for the header's height.

  1. Could I get the option to collapse the left nav, and have the two columns get a bit more space/padding between them? To me that would help me be able to visually separate the written content compared to the code, and stay focused on the page. Right now, the page is pretty "busy".
